3 Tips for Keeping on Track With Your Weight Loss

Keeping motivated is important when you are losing weight. You will receive plenty of support from the weight loss clinic in London after your bariatric surgery, but here are three simple tips that should also help to keep you on track.

1. Know Your Goals: One of the best ways to keep motivated with anything is to set yourself a goal to reach. It can be good to know how much weight you want to lose in total, but it can be a good idea to set some shorter term goals too. You might want to focus on losing the next ten kilos or getting rid of the first stone of extra weight, rather than thinking about your ultimate goal. Having other kinds of goals after your bariatric surgery at the London clinic can also help. You might want to focus on being able to walk to the shops without getting out of breath or being able to touch your toes.

2. Keep a Record: Knowing how far you have come can give you a boost when you’re finding it difficult to keep going. Note down your weight or measurements regularly, or try taking a photo every month to see how much you’ve changed. When you need a motivational boost you can look back and see what you’ve already accomplished.

3. Give Yourself Time: When you have bariatric surgery in London you are making a long term commitment, so don’t be disheartened if you don’t see dramatic effects right away. Set yourself intermediate goals and resist the temptation to weigh or measure yourself too often. If you can wait till the end of the week or month, you’ll see a much bigger change. Remember to focus on the positive of what you have achieved rather than thinking only about how far you have left to go. You should also make sure that you reward yourself when you reach each of your goals. Buy yourself something nice or go out to do something fun- just make sure that you don’t use it as an excuse to break your diet.
